UAE to host the Asian Cup 2019

Manama – For the second time the United Arab Emirates appointed as the host of the Asian Cup. They will hold the biggest football event in the Yellow Continent for 2019 edition.

UAE beat Iran who also volunteered to host the Asian Cup in 2019. The decision was taken in the UAE appointment AFC Executive Committee meeting held in Manama, Bahrain.

This is the second time the UAE to host the Asian Cup. They previously held the event in 1996, where the Indonesian edition for the first time made it through to the finals.

UEFA already had a lot of experience to hold international tournaments, ranging levels of Asia to the world. In addition to the Asian Cup in 1996 they also host the Fifa World Youth Championship (2003), World Cup (2009 and 2010), and the World Cup U17 (2013).

Asian Cup 2019 will be a new milestone because for the first time the tournament has increased the number of participants. If previously followed by 16 contestants, then for that year the amount was developed so 24 countries.

UAE national team just finished a semifinalist at the 2015 Asian Cup held in Australia. They abide by the host, who eventually became champions for the first time.
