Speculated to City, Rodgers: I Want Durability in Liverpool
Liverpool – Name Brendan Rodgers began touted as one of the replacement candidate Manuel Pellegrini as manager of Manchester City. But Rodgers brushed it off and said it wanted to survive long in Liverpool.
Pellegrini started getting the spotlight following the defeat of Barcelona and Liverpool. Two of these losses threaten opportunities City champion in two different games.
With the defeat of Barca at the Etihad Stadium in the first leg of the Champions League last 16, step City for the next round to be increasingly severe. Meanwhile, a negative result at Anfield makes City still five points behind Chelsea in the Premier League standings.
Pellegrini began exposed to the issue of dismissal. Pep Guardiola became one of the names being touted to replace Pellegrini in the summer.
Later the name Rodgers also entered into exchange Pellegrini replacement candidate. Reds manager was considered a criterion game in accordance with the wishes of the leaders City.
But Rodgers who is under contract with Liverpool until 2018 that dismissed the speculation. His current focus is to provide success for Liverpool as well survive in the long term.
“It does not bother me. I chose to come to Liverpool because I hope I can be here for a long time. I think the speculation that’s normal in football,” said Rodgers as preached Guardian.
