Guardiola Praise Resistance Braunschweig
Munich – Bayern Munich qualified for the DFB-Pokal quarter-finals after beating second Bundesliga team Eintracht Braunschweig two goals without reply. Despite win, Bayern proved not easily pass through his opponent’s.
Located at the Allianz Arena in the early hours this morning, Bayern seemed almost to be a goalless draw in during the first half. However, David Alaba broke the deadlock after a free kick goalkeeper Braunschweig to bring Bayern lead 1-0 at half time.
In the second half, Mario Goetze doubled the score to 2-0. Despite dominating possession and insistent pounding Die Roten Braunschweig but still failed to add to his tally until the game broke up.
“I am being asked ‘How many goals will be printed Bayern: five, six, seven?’ Today is a good show that a team is supposed to respect their opponents, “said Bayern coach Josep Guardiola quoted the official club website.
“I know how hard this competition. Braunschweig makes it great. A second division club does have a slightly less quality but they have tenacity.”
“We are not in the best physical shape today but still was able to control the game. I’m satisfied because we qualify for the next round,” said Guardiola.
Lottery quarterfinal round will be conducted on March 8, 2015, while the match was held on April 7 to 8.
